White-trousers Dao villages

Around the Thac Ba lake  is the villages of the Dao white trousers. This ethnic group is known for their kindness, hospitality and smiles.

The Dao white trousers minority is one of the 36 tribes of northern Vietnam, come from China between the thirteenth and the twentieth century. The Dao people consists of 620 500 people.

The people Dao (pronounced Zao) is mainly divided between the Red Dao and White Dao. White Dao is in the family of yao meo.

The Hmong inhabits at high mountains while the Dao live  halfway between the valley and peaks on the stilt house which has just one big room used as living room and sleeping.
